Bridges to Solidarity e.V. is a non-profit organization based in Bochum and surrounding areas, devoted to fostering a more interconnected and inclusive community. Our mission is to build bridges between people of diverse backgrounds, promoting understanding, celebrating cultural richness, and creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone. We are dedicated to organizing diverse events that contribute to our goals of intercultural exchange and integration, with a special focus on establishing an English-speaking community.

✨ One of the biggest things I learned from my Youth Exchange in Cyprus last year was the power of intercultural connection.Being together with people from six different countries was already special — but what really stood out to me were the intercultural evenings. Each country had the chance to present its culture, traditions, food, music, and stories. It was such a beautiful way to learn from each other, start meaningful conversations, and see the world through different perspectives.What I loved most was also presenting our own country. You don’t get to do that very often — and seeing everyone’s reactions, curiosity, and excitement was honestly amazing. It made me feel proud of where I come from, while at the same time reminding me how much we all share, even though we’re different. 💙

Youth exchange: Can‘t you sea, in Cyprus 🇨🇾 ☀️During these cold days I want to remember my incredible experience last November !! Thanks to Erasmus + I could participate in this youth exchange, where i learned so many new things, not only about marine pollution in our oceans, but about the different cultures and about myself 🧘‍♀️ I want to thank everyone who helped to plan this mobility and everyone who participated, it was truly an amazing experience ✨ -Martha

The last year had many great adventures and experiences, but one experience stands out for me: The Erasmus+ project: Can't You Sea?. ✨Both the work and the people I met for the project were new to me. So being there in Cyprus for these 10 days taught me a lot about sea pollution, different cultures, and also about myself!Through this project, I gained a lot of knowledge and know-how about how to combat pollution and raise awareness of the issue. For example, I really enjoyed the training on how to run a social media campaign. We also approached with the topic in more creative ways, such as doing a theater or painting rocks and writing a matching story about sea creatures in danger. This taught us how to present such a difficult topic in easier ways for more people to understand.I learnt a lot from this project and I am really greatfull that I had the opportunity to take part! 🙏~ Lena

November last year (12.11-21.11) in Cyprus, Pissouri:About two months ago I participated in an Erasmus+ project called: Can't You Sea? 🌊The topic of sea pollution and its consequences was presented in various ways: There were presentations, games and group activities as well as a beach clean-up. My feelings about this training were excitement, gratitude, joy and interest. I applied for this project because the topic of pollution is really important to me and I wanted to learn more and make an impact. I was excited to meet new people from different cultures, and I am really grateful, that I was able to experience this adventure! I learnt a lot during the training, and i also got the impression that many people became more aware of the problem of (sea)pollution! 🚮~ Lena

These ten inspiring days reminded me how vital it is to protect our natural environment and actively work towards a greener future. Reflecting on unsustainable habits and exploring greener alternatives and local initiatives truly sparked something in me. ♻🌱 At the same time, the project challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, open my mind, and engage with new forms of creativity and participation. I am deeply grateful for this experience and would do it all over again without hesitation. 🌍✨~Pia

This Erasmus+ project, “Can’t You SEA?!”, was a true eye-opener for me, inspiring me on two levels: sustainability and connection. As part of the German team, I spent ten sun-soaked days in Cyprus learning about marine conservation, while connecting with incredibly creative and fun individuals from five different European countries.🇪🇺☀️Experiencing the island firsthand and discovering its history and life through a variety of activities created countless unforgettable moments within our group. One of my personal highlights were the culture nights, where cultural differences melted away as we shared traditional food, music, and dances. 🎶💫~Pia

💡 What I gained from the youth exchange in Cyprus in November 2025:🇪🇺 During our time in Pissouri with participants from five other countries, I met some wonderful new people whom I would love to see again. The cultural nights gave us a little insight into the unique characteristics of each country and were real highlights!🌱 I was also inspired by our various activities. We were often encouraged to think creatively. I took many ideas back with me to Germany. These include, above all, ideas in the areas of sustainability, environmental protection, climate protection and sustainable development.🌊 Finally, it was incredible to be on the island of Cyprus and to be able to discover parts of it. I enjoyed going swimming whenever I had time.These and other things will remain in my memory for a very long time!Konstantin@konschtihihi

🇪🇺 Gratitude... ...is what I feel when I think back on our youth exchange in Pissouri, Cyprus, in November 2025. 🌸 I had many wonderful experiences during those days. I feel that I really blossomed in some of the activities. Creativity was often required, which I really enjoyed. There were many moments in which I felt very happy.🤸🏼‍♂️ The participants contributed greatly to this. Hallo again, it‘s Jillian:)Through all the sessions and activities, I didn‘t just learn how serious and urgent ocean and costal protection is🌊♻️, I also found new easy to express my creativity through different workshops🎨✍️. And honestly, the Workshops and activities were such a good vibe😁✨. We connected so naturally, made new friends and went from total strangers to a really close group in just a few days.

Hey everyone, I‘m Jillian:)From November 12th-21st, I got the chance to join an Ersamus + project in Cyprus called ”Can‘t you Sea“🌊🇨🇾.It was my first Erasmus project and I honestly always thought Ersamus was just a university exchange. But nope, it turned out to be so much more✨.Those days were intense (in the best way) and super fun🎉. 🇬🇧As part of our preparation for the Can’t You SEA training in November in Cyprus, our team visited the EKOCityCenter in Bochum for a workshop on waste sorting.🚮We learned how trash is sorted in our region, discussed the challenges involved, and got practical tips for improving sorting at home.👉Every positive effort makes an impact!🌍Thanks to our great team for participating🫶, and of course to EKOCityCenter for the informative and eye-opening workshop.👏🙌Next stop: Cyprus!🇨🇾🇩🇪Als Vorbereitung auf das Training Can’t You SEA im November auf Zypern hat unser Team das EKOCityCenter in Bochum für einen Workshop zum Thema Mülltrennung besucht.🚮Wir haben gelernt, wie Müll in unserer Region sortiert wird, über die Herausforderungen gesprochen und praktische Tipps bekommen, wie wir zu Hause besser trennen können.👉Jede positive Handlung wirkt!🌍Danke an unser tolles Team fürs Mitmachen und natürlich a das EKOCityCenter für den informativen und aufschlussreich Workshop👏🙌. Hey everyone, it is me Malek :) From March 22nd to 30th, I took part in the Erasmus+ project “Media Mind” in Cyprus.It was an inspiring week full of creativity, reflection, and meaningful connections.We explored media literacy in fun and interactive ways one of my highlights was painting stones at the beach, each showing our personal safe space.I’m really grateful for the experience and for meeting so many kind and inspiring people from all over Europe.

Hey everyone, it’s Malek from the German crew! :)Just wanted to share a few impressions and emotions from our Erasmus Plus project in Cyprus.We had such a good time during the workshops, activities or hanging out during the breaks. We talked a lot, laughed even more, and made some great connections and memories.The best part for me: the topic really connects to my job, so it wasn’t just fun but also super useful for my work.I especially liked the creative tasks they made me think and feel in new ways.And every evening we had a small reflection round with about 10 people, which was a really nice way to end the day.

Hi, my name is Caro :) From 22nd to March 30th, I had the opportunity to take part in an Erasmus+ project called „Media Mind: Critical Thinking in Media Literacy Development“ on Cyprus. In this post, i‘d like to share some of my experiences with you. 🌻We learned a lot at had a great time exploring the topic through various creative methods.
